Okkervil River frontman Will Sheff performed a solo set at the Living Room in New York City on Tuesday, previewing a handful of new songs — likely off the forthcoming OR album in the works — as well as The Stage Names cut “Plus Ones,” armed with only an acoustic guitar, piano, and his self-deprecating sense of humor.
“Well, I’m going to soldier on with the incredibly depressing songs for which I am so known and tolerated,” Sheff deadpanned before “Lay of the Last Survivor,” an excellent new tune caught on video by one lucky attendee and posted by our pal We All Want Someone To Shout For this evening.
