Eminem need not worry about getting publicity for his forthcoming album Relapse. See, his method for promoting records is kind of brilliant: He debuts the first video and single with a ridiculous collage of insults about people in pop culture, the media eats it up, people get angry, he’s a household name again and records get sold. Maybe the auto industry should hire the Detroit native to unload Chryslers.
So Bill O’Reilly’s latest battle in his war on rap has arrived. We think he just hates Eminem for hugging Elton John, but he claims (via Pitchfork), “few Americans take the vile rapper Eminem seriously. He represents the lowest form of entertainment in this country and is a publicity hound to boot.” We better let the public know about this “publicity hound!”
“However,” O’Reilly continued before playing a clip from the “We Made You” video, “his attack on Sarah Palin, which is very crude, seems to be okay with the media.” You can kind of guess what follows: O’Reilly says the media has accused him of being a sexist, but ignores Eminem’s sexism because of their liberal bias.
That’s right, Wolf Blitzer, we know you’re hiding all that scandalous hip-hop news.
