Seattle’s Crocodile Café reopened last weekend after being closed for a little more than a year and last night some of the original stars of the Northwest grunge scene showed up for a surprise performance at Tom Morello’s Justice Tour.
Seattle P.I. reports Kim Thayil, Ben Shepard and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden took the stage with Tad Doyle, singer of TAD, one of the first bands signed to Sub Pop Records. Travis Hay writes, “[Doyle] led the band through a three-song ‘Tadgarden’ set that included” Soundgarden’s “Nothing to Say” and “Spoonman,” with Tom Morello joining the group on guitar for the latter song.
The Crocodile Café is famous for staging early concerts for the likes of Nirvana, Mudhoney and many more legendary rock acts.
