Only a few weeks after his VH1 Storytellers episode aired, the unapologetically Auto-Tuned Kanye West will perform on American Idol on Wednesday (Mar 11). The episode is a “results show,” so he won’t be sharing the stage with the keenly trained voices of Idol wannabes, but he will be sharing it with the winner of the first ever American Idol, Kelly Clarkson.
Popcrunch reports that Clarkson will sing her new single, “My Life Would Suck Without You,” and West will sing “Heartless.” And there I was hoping they’d duet. Clarkson is also set to be the musical guest on next week’s Saturday Night Live (Ray LaMontagne is on tomorrow night).
It’s pretty brave of Kanye to bring his mediocre vocals skills into the lion’s den of singer scrutiny, but as long as Thom Yorke isn’t a new guest judge, he’ll be just fine.
