It looks like those endearing live duets by the Tallest Man on Earth’s Kristian Matsson and Idiot Wind’s Amanda Bergman over the past year were just the tip of the iceberg with regard to the pair’s creative partnership, as now they’ve teamed up for a collection of new material for a forthcoming film: Once A Year — director Gorki Glaser-Müller’s romantic drama about lead characters Maria and Mikael’s annual affair over the course of thirty years — will feature songs recorded by Matsson and Bergman exclusively for the film.
While distributors of Once A Year are looking to premiere the feature at upcoming film festivals and are aiming for a 2011 release, further details have yet to be revealed. (Perhaps the Tallest Man’s new full band-backed tune, “There’s No Leaving Now,” is among the collection.) In the meantime, get acquainted with Bergman’s solo music here and revisit the pair’s undeniable live chemistry in the duet version of “Thrown Right At Me” below.
