When Thom Yorke snubbed Kanye West at the Grammys, many people thought the move was a bit cold, but now that teen idol Miley Cyrus has spoken out on getting the cold shoulder from Radiohead at the Grammys as well, the band’s distaste for the Hollywood scene is a lot more understandable. Especially after you read Cyrus’ quotes on the subject.
Appearing on the Johnjay and Rich radio show, Cyrus told the hosts that her dressing room was only a few doors down from Radiohead’s, so she asked to meet the band. “I had already texted all my friends!” she said. Not so fast, Hannah Montana. Radiohead refused to stop by. “If someone, like, said that, like, ‘I would cry if I met them. I really want to meet them,’ I would freaking, like, run and, like, give them the biggest hug in the world because that’s cool, you know?” Cyrus said. “But they were like, ‘We don’t really do that.’”
The snub was inconceivable to Cyrus, who added, “They don’t meet one little kid who would cry and make their life? That’s the reason you do this! The reason that I’m in the business is because I like making people happy and it’s, like, I don’t get people like [Radiohead].”
