Blogs went crazy this week after Joe Satriani’s lawyer, Howard King, suggested his team would serve Coldplay the plagiarism lawsuit they are filing, over the song “Viva La Vida,” at the Grammy Awards. I guess it’s too much to ask for a typically predictable award show to feature Coldplay getting served on the red carpet, M.I.A. giving birth while performing, and Radiohead performing with the USC Marching Band; we’ll have to settle for the latter two.
“We had a very fine lawyer contact us and assure us there’s no need to personally serve them,” Satriani’s lawyer told E! News. “He will accept the papers on the band’s behalf.”
Something tells me this Howard King, fellow, was really hoping his legal work could get him a ticket to the red carpet. “Too bad,” he added. “It would have been pretty colorful.”
