Young Jeezy has responded to news that Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and comedian Dennis Miller were chastising Jeezy and Jay-Z over a leaked video of the two criticizing the Bush administration at an Inaugural ball.
“At the end of the day, you’re dealing with cats who think that we as young black men don’t know what it is we do,” Young Jeezy told XXLMag.com. He then makes fun of Miller’s likely purposeful mispronunciation of Jeezy’s name, adding, “We entrepreneurs, we came from nothing. If you gotta mispronounce my name to try to be funny and you got a Harvard or whatever education you got, then you’re really showing how ignorant you are.”
Jay-Z, in keeping with his reputation for staying out of public squabbles, has remained silent. Even 50 Cent praised Jay-Z’s ability to take the high road when people try to bait him. “Jay-Z is Gandhi,” 50 Cent told XXLMag.com. “Jay (would) rather just let ‘em go. My take on it is, yeah, I’m gonna say something back, and he gonna wish he never said what he said.”
Young Jeezy, aka The Snowman, is more in the 50 Cent camp when it comes to public confrontation. He has even accepted O’Reilly’s invitation for an on-air interview, saying, “Damn right! I ain’t never ran, nah mean?”
*Correction: This article previously stated that O’Reilly did not attend Harvard University, but in fact, Young Jeezy did better fact checking than us. O’Reilly did attend Harvard. We regret the error. Thank you, to the reader who alerted us.
