When we last heard from PJ Harvey, she was debuting her new song “Let England Shake” on television for a preview of her follow-up to 2007’s White Chalk, a forthcoming LP that was half-written on an autoharp. Soon thereafter, Polly Jean revealed that she was set to guest design the Summer 2010 issue of Francis Ford Coppola’s Zoetrope: All-Story, a literary magazine featuring a new short story by Woody Allen, among others. Well, both projects are now in the can.
Harvey’s official site is hosting a .PDF file featuring preview scans of her artwork in the new All-Story issue (available to purchase for only $8 here). The image above is her illustration for the cover of course, but two more drawings and a self-shot photo can be viewed here.
As for the aforementioned new album, longtime collaborator/producer John Parish’s MySpace page offers this little tidbit: “John has just finished recording the new PJ Harvey album.”
