Earlier this month, the Hold Steady’s Craig Finn stopped by Wits, a live Minnesota Public Radio show, to participate in a quiz game with Chuck Klosterman and perform three new songs alongside bassist John Munson, vibraphonist Steve Roehm, and pedal steel guitarist Joe Savage. “They aren’t really Hold Steady songs. This is the first time I’ve played them for anyone,” Finn said of the new somber folk tunes, according to Gimme Noise (via Pitchfork), before unveiling “Don’t Hold Back,” “One Single Saviour,” and “Western Pier.”
