My Twitter feed is blowing up this morning with excitement over the Gaslight Anthem’s new single, “American Slang,” our first listen to their forthcoming album of the same name. We’ve only streamed the track once so far, but it sounds like frontman Brian Fallon and friends have a solid follow-up to their breakthrough record, The ‘59 Sound, on their hands.
On June 15th, the Gaslight Anthem will release their third LP, American Slang, via one of my favorite indie rock labels: SideOneDummy. Produced by Ted Hutt, who also helped them craft their last effort, the album features tracks like “Bring It On,” “Orphans” and “Stay Lucky,” which, according to the band’s label:
Bristle and burn with the spirit of soul and the artistic adventurousness and impressive confidence of a band that has come into its own and found its own voice.
We haven’t gotten a chance to hear those tunes yet, but the title track surely fits that description. Check out the cover art above and the full tracklist below:
