We heard Jeff Tweedy unveil a brand new song last month via a recording from his solo concert in Montreal, and now a second possible preview of Wilco’s forthcoming eighth LP has arrived: George Stroumboulopoulos sat down with Tweedy this week for an interview on his Canadian talk show before the Wilco frontman performed a solo-acoustic take on one of his latest compositions, “Open Your Mind.”
“The night’s so young, but I still say we’re too old for clichés,” he sings in the tune, available to watch in the television clip here. Below, you can find audio of the performance alongside a video of Tweedy discussing his struggle with “the idea of the tortured artist.”
