As it turns out, many of the most promising new-folk artists from England (Mumford & Sons, Johnny Flynn, et al.) share a one-degree connection to Laura Marling… Enter Louise and the Pins, a London trio led by singer-songwriter Louise Hull that’s been previewing new material at live gigs while their debut studio effort is in the works. Check out this month’s live performance of original ditty “Melancholy” — a duet featuring Marling, with whom they’ve toured alongside — above. Hull and friends are definitely a band to watch in the coming months.
