Bright Eyes and Neva Dinova’s 2004 collaborative album, One Jug of Wine, Two Vessels, has always been one of my favorite lesser-known Saddle Creek releases (especially the song “Spring Cleaning”), so I’m excited to report today that said album will not only get the reissue treatment this spring, but Conor Oberst, Jake Bellows, and company have reconvened to record four brand new songs for the re-release.
Somewhat hidden within Saddle Creek’s online store is a description and track listing (via MOLB), which reveals that—regardless of reports that an upcoming final album from the Bright Eyes moniker is on the way—producer/multi-instrumentalist Mike Mogis and Oberst have already recorded the first new Bright Eyes material in almost three years.
In the fall of last year (yes, just a few months ago), Neva Dinova and Bright Eyes put new tunes “Rollerskating,” “Happy Accident,” “Someone’s Love,” and “I Know You” to tape. Though the original album was only 6 tracks long, these new songs now make up the first four tracks of the new full-length album.
The One Jug Of Wine, Two Vessels reissue LP will hit stores on March 23rd, but pre-order here for a March 9 shipping/digital download date, complete with new Bright Eyes/Neva Dinova jams.
