Okay, this is even stranger than a cameo on Dharma and Greg, though maybe not as weird as being picked up by New Jersey cops: Bob Dylan is in talks with various car companies to be the voice of their GPS navigational systems. You know those somewhat robotic, occasionally creepy, people that tell you to “take the next left turn” or “do a u-turn if possible?” Imagine Bob freakin’ Dylan saying that. Here’s what Dylan told listeners of his Theme Time Radio Hour show (via Telegraph):
I am talking to a couple of car companies about being the voice of their GPS system. I think it would be good if you are looking for directions and hear my voice saying something like: “Left at the next street, no a right – you know what? Just go straight.” I probably shouldn’t do it because whichever way I go I always end up at one place: Lonely Avenue.
I’m thinking this idea might be a road hazard, but bring it on! To have Dylan interrupt his own music while I’m driving should be a bit more distracting, but a lot less annoying.
