Jack White is probably feeling fairly confident after topping the charts with his latest project, The Dead Weather. The immediate success of the band and his Third Man Records subscription service, retail store, recording studio, photo studio, and record label has shown that Third Man’s one-man crusade against digital music is far from futile. So now he’s got more surprises in store for fans.
“Some [Vault] members are getting into shows before anyone else now just by lottery,” White told BBC Newsbeat (via NME). “Some might get rare records randomly sent to them via mail order (or handed to them by me even!). Some are getting records that they will resell on eBay if they want to.”
When I saw the White Stripes in Providence, RI a while back, Jack walked through the audience with his face painted and it was honestly kind of frightening (the dude’s, like, six feet whatever). So is it just me or does the thought of mailman Jack showing up at your door sound a bit scary?
