Jack White has been known to step off the big stage at festivals and join the masses for a couple unplugged cuts. He did just that last year at SXSW and reprised the move over the weekend in San Francisco, venturing off into Golden Gate Park for inspired takes on Blunderbuss single “Love Interruption” and White Stripes classic “Hotel Yorba” in a wooded area during the Outside Lands festival.
It only took mere moments for the crowd to gather alongside Third Man’s Record rolling record — a big yellow truck where LPs can be sold from a window like an ice cream vendor. Following the inevitable yelps of excitement died down, though, all was quiet for a foot-stomping set.
Fortunately for those far away from the SF woods (or stuck in the back of an impromptu audience), someone landed a spot right next to Jack and captured two tunes on tape. Join the fun below:
