They’ve been out of the spotlight for over a decade, but No Doubt are back with a new album (Push and Shove), new single “Settle Down”, and official music video (above). While two months remain until the set arrives in full, today brings their latest collaboration with director Sophie Muller, helmer of previous classic No Doubt visuals for “Don’t Speak” and “Underneath It All” among countless other clips anyone who’s flipped past MTV over the past 20 years would recognize.
The “Settle Down” video finds No Doubt picking up where they left off a bit: Armed with big pop hooks and ska-infused rhythms, the clip follows frontwoman Gwen Stefani, bassist Tony Kanal, drummer Adrian Young, and guitarist Tom Dumont into a dizzying outdoor party/performance space.
All told, it’s a fine reunion tune complete with an appropriately reunion-themed clip, in which the 11-year gap feels nearly vanished after a mere 6-minute jam. Get back into the swing of things above.
