Adele’s “Skyfall” — her new James Bond theme song and first piece of studio material following up 21 — made its premiere online today in the form of the above lyric video, featuring audio of the instant-classic composition and a dose of poignant lines left ambiguously open to interpretation ahead of the film. Lots of deserved praise will be given to Adele for the effort, but we’d be remiss not giving Paul Epworth his due here, as well. Epworth, who co-wrote and produced Adele’s smash single “Rolling in the Deep” in 2010, teamed up with the British singer-songwriter one again for the new Daniel Craig-starring 007 flick. Suffice to say, given the retro-meets-modern mood of the cut streaming here, the pair have now proven themselves to be a collaborative tour de force. Here’s hoping they’ll keep the winning streak alive for the next LP, but in the meantime, take their latest single for a spin above.
