The Avett Brothers The Carpenter Preview on iTunes

The Avett Brothers The CarpenterUp until recently, our only chance to catch a glimpse at the highly anticipated new Avett Brothers record was to scan The Carpenter tracklist for tunes unveiled live or to leave the single, “Live and Die,” on repeat. But now a healthier portion of the set is available to sample (if 90 seconds of each cut isn’t too tantalizingly short) in the form of iTunes preview clips.

While we wouldn’t suggest forming an opinion before the LP can be heard in full context, the Rick Rubin-produced sonics are a notable enough element to peruse on their own. Particularly, “Paul Newman Vs. The Demons” and “Pretty Girl from Michigan” find the Avetts injecting distorted guitar into the set. Cuts like “Winter in My Heart” and the closing track, “Life,” offer up the more intimate, acoustic fare we’re familiar with from the North Carolina troupe. So, without further ado, get a taste of The Carpenter and pre-order the album by clicking out to the iTunes application here.
