‘The Master’ Trailer Feat. Philip Seymour Hoffman

We received our first glimpse at writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s forthcoming film, The Master, last month in the form of its first teaser trailer starring Joaquin Phoenix’s character, Freddie Sutton, and now comes an even more provoking preview: Philip Seymour Hoffman playing Lancaster Dodd, Amy Adams as his wife, Mary Sue Dodd, and more footage of Phoenix’s character’s apparent psychological breakdown in the drama. What’s more, Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood has followed up his score for PTA’s There Will Be Blood, and a taste of his music is featured in today’s look, as well. As with the aforementioned Daniel Day-Lewis-starring project, the brief yet chilling dialogue teased here is enough to have us riveted for the rumored fall release, not to mention Greenwood’s unsettling score.
