Given that a cover tune first put Strand of Oaks on our radar, it’s fitting for Timothy Showalter to return to these pages — following an excellent new record — with another rendition. Even more fitting is that we’re back after long absence left off with Ryan Adams’ new LP, a cut from which Showalter just channeled for WXPN. Moving for both its confident, understated approach and incisive vocal delivery, this is the kind of killer take we’d never doubt coming from Strand of Oaks.
