Astronaut Covers David Bowie in Space – Video

Astronaut David Bowie Space Oddity

David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” just hit the stratosphere and beyond thanks to astronaut Chris Hadfield, Commander of Expedition 35 on the International Space Station. Hadfield is set to return to Earth on Monday, but before he leaves the “tin can” (as Bowie put it in 1969’s Space Oddity), he shared this epic farewell: the most apropos cover of David Bowie’s title track from that album ever, complete with a music video featuring stunning footage from outer space.

“With deference to the genius of David Bowie, here’s Space Oddity, recorded on Station,” he said on Twitter. “A last glimpse of the World.”

The visuals alone are amazing, but credit is also due to his fine performance, which would impress with or without gravity. With no further ado, watch it above.
