After performing American Slang standout “Boxer” (video), Brian Fallon and his New Jersey quartet, the Gaslight Anthem, stuck around on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night for a “Web Exclusive” take on one of Pearl Jam’s contributions to 1992’s epic Singles soundtrack, “State of Love and Trust.” Video of their performance is above.
Revisiting the original soundtrack just now, it’s amazing how well director Cameron Crowe encapsulated the 1992 rock scene in a jewel case, not to mention it contains “Drown,” probably my favorite Smashing Pumpkins song. (Special thanks to my sister for buying this and letting her little bro permanently borrow it back in ‘94.)
