In one of the better scenes from the new Broken Social Scene-scored film It’s Kind of a Funny Story, Keir Gilchrist’s character drifts off into a fantasy glam-rock performance, in which co-stars Emma Roberts, Adrian Martinez, and Zach Galifianakis — all playing patients in a mental health ward — join him for a lip-synced version of David Bowie and Queen’s “Under Pressure.” As you’d expect, Galifianakis sort of steals the show. But then again, the comedian/actor has plenty of experience in this area: Fiona Apple’s 2005 “Not About Love” video, the alternate video for Kanye West’s “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” (co-starring Will Oldham), his take on Anita Baker’s “You Bring Me Joy,” and an interpretive dance of “Under Pressure” on his 2002 VH1 show Late World, to name a few.
Anyway, these videos always crack me up, so let’s enjoy them below, including a portion of the It’s Kind of a Funny Story “Under Pressure” scene…
