Beck is in no rush to drop that acoustic record promised in the spring, but as much as we’d love an LP of cuts like last year’s Neil Young-inspired “Looking For A Sign,” recent one-off singles find him in an inspired alternate headspace that’s well worth the wait. His new single, “I Won’t Be Long,” arrived today, and it’s an excellent tight-knit jam, complete with fresh-ground-forging flourishes from an artist known for doing just that.
