Wilco brought their proven cover song prowess to all new levels on Friday night at their Solid Sound Festival in North Adams, Massachusetts, fulfilling 27 fan requests with versions of songs by the Replacements (featuring Tommy Stinson), Pavement, Grateful Dead, the Beatles, Velvet Underground and many more. Just to give you an idea of how fun and unexpected moments of this set were, the band chased down the Kinks’ “Waterloo Sunset” with ABBA’s “Waterloo.” Not to mention Jeff Tweedy & Co. took on Daft Punk’s funk jam of the summer, “Get Lucky,” complete with the robot-voiced breakdown. Naturally, a number of bad-to-not-awful-quality phone clips abound, but thanks to NYC Taper, hear solid sound of their great take on Television’s “Marquee Moon” above.
