From the new Sara Watkins album he produced to recent live performances with Fiona Apple, Blake Mills is a name that keeps turning up around here with regard to collaborations (he recorded a damn fine Dylan cover once, too). While the 25-year-old’s resumé of notable team-ups might be too long to mention, Sound & Vision have all that and more covered in this new 12-minute video profile, which features a host of talented artists (and one legend of the Laurel Canyon set) praising Mills as a guitar virtuoso, in addition to being a promising songwriter and producer. In short, now’s a good time to get acquainted with a guy whose work we’ll be hearing everywhere soon — be it via solo material or as an unsung hero behind the scenes.
