In which Fiona Apple’s well-documented affinity for snails (“The most calming thing to me is to have a snail crawling on me. It’s like I’ve been put in my mother’s arms and rocked.”) hits the small screen via director Joseph Cahill’s surreal visuals for “Every Single Night”. Imagine the mollusk obsession on acid, though, as a dead squid provides headgear while an octopus — of Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea proportions — also makes a cameo, among other slimy guest stars. Most importantly, this clip captures the jaunty yet unsettled feel of the tune itself. Watch it above (via Sundance).
