Yoann Lemoine had already begun making a name for himself as a filmmaker and music video director when, last year, he applied that talent for visual arts to a tune of his own under the moniker Woodkid. The result was “Iron,” a stirring, climactic clip that’s garnered 13 million well-earned views to date. Lemoine returned six months later with another viral track, his faithful take on Adele’s “Someone Like You”, but today brings a proper follow-up to “Iron”: In “Run Boy Run,” the French director/songwriter picks up where the former clip’s image of an ominous tower left off for a kind of Where the Wild Things Are-meets-Lord of the Rings narrative, complete with subterranean monsters, a flying ghost ship, and a coda that promises more is on the way. Come for the rousing cut, stay for its brilliant video above.
