Apple Rejects NIN iPhone App Update

Trent Reznor’s new Nine Inch Nails iPhone app successfully launched recently, but it has hit a bit of a speed bump on one of its first updates. “Apple rejects the NIN iPhone update because it contains objectionable content,” Reznor tweeted today (HT Kall). “The objectionable content referenced is ‘The Downward Spiral.’”

I kind of agree with Reznor’s follow-up tweet: “Not even sure where to start with that one.” Sure, The Downward Spiral has some potentially offensive lyrics, but if it’s acceptable for MTV in the 90s and Johnny Cash, why not Apple?

**UPDATE: Trent posted a longer rant about Apple and the full rejection email that his developer received here.
