U.K. singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas performed recently at Laurel Collective’s emerging artist festival, a one-day event tucked away in the woods at a secluded spot an hour south of London. Along with curating the showcase this year, organizers have begun sharing weekly chapters from their Barn Sessions: beautiful, pro-shot clips featuring one-off cover tunes amid bales of hay. Khushi’s cover of “Pilgrim” by Mø was one highlight, but here’s my favorite so far: “Twice,” the opening track off Little Dragon’s self-titled debut, played in faithful form here with a hint of La Havas’ jazz upbringing on the lead vocal and Chris Dagger condensing the original’s arrangement into an elegant solo bass part. Check it out above.
