Jason Molina’s ’03 Songs: Ohia record, The Magnolia Electric Co., would deserve 10th anniversary reissue treatment regardless, but given his tragic death in March, it feels even more appropriate this year to delve back into one of his crowning achievements. Secretly Canadian will release the set on November 12th, complete with the original LP, a second LP containing 9 demo cuts, and a 10″ single. As with revisiting much of his work now, it’s hard not to notice when tracks like “Farewell Transmission” resonate as a kind of eulogy by and for Molina himself.
