Now that Neko Case’s great new studio record is out, she’s begun making the rounds with longtime collaborators Kelly Hogan and Eric Bachmann. Last night they played “Man” for the Late Night crowd, but this week brings a pair of other appearances that shouldn’t be missed amid the Fallon hoopla. Case & Co’s Q Studio take on “Night Still Comes” does the album version justice, this time with just a solo piano and harmony vocal backup leaning more in the unplugged direction. Meanwhile, they spent over an hour with Thomas Lennon and Rob Huebel on Scott Aukerman’s Comedy Bang Bang podcast, in which they impersonate celebrities reciting her album’s lengthy title (The Worse Things Get, The Harder I Fight, The Harder I Fight, The More I Love You), Neko illustrates her contempt for the unfortunate holiday perennial “Santa Baby,” and two album cuts get the acoustic treatment. Here’s the whole thing, but given its very NSFW moments, you might want to skip to the music portion noted below:
Comedy Bang Bang, Feat. “Local Girl” (at 27:30) and “Calling Cards” (49:00)
