Laura Marling has teamed up with directing duo Fred Scott and Nick Davies for another cinematic take on Once I Was An Eagle. As with their short film for the LP’s opening medley, “When Brave Bird Saved,” today’s “Devil’s Resting Place” clip conjures a foreboding tone with dimly lit, cryptic imagery in elaborate indoor sets. Marling herself doesn’t make an appearance this time around, which is for the better, perhaps, given that the lead actress seems possessed by something real or imagined lurking in the woods, the devil, dance, and other ominous forces. As with the rest of the record, it’s an excellent song — now with a haunting official video above.
