As Fiona Apple and Blake Mills prepare for a joint tour this fall, the pair just shared an excellent glimpse at their musical rapport. Watch above as they play an unplugged take on When the Pawn closing number “I Know,” live in an unnamed woman’s living room. I was sold at “I Know,” given that it’s my favorite Fiona song, but the sheer intimacy of the clip and Mills’ 6-string rework of the original’s piano part (particularly during the bridge) are even more rewarding than expected. We’ve posted many times on Mills’ own music before, but a good place for starters is last summer’s mini-documentary here.
