It’s been over a year since we heard the promising teaser tune “Restless Fugitive” and six months since the album’s title track, “Carry On,” arrived last fall, but Willy Mason’s long-awaited third LP is finally imminent. Due out August 20th via Communion Records, Carry On was produced by Dan Carey (Hot Chip/CSS/M.I.A.), who “was able to make the beats sound so human,” Mason says. “It felt like the tracks were laid and I could kind of let go a bit more.” Along with “Restless Fugitive,” this week’s single is a fine example of the organic result to the pair’s folk-with-programmed-beats collaboration. Revisit our favorite track without percussion samples from the record below and check out the new video for “Talk Me Down,” directed by Toby Ashenheim and Liberty Kay, above.
