In which the new Mavis Staples record starts shaping up to top her last Wilco Loft-recorded LP, here’s our latest taste from One True Vine, “Far Celestial Shore.” Last month’s “I Like The Things About Me” found Jeff Tweedy and son updating a classic, self-affirming Staples Sisters cut with fuzz-laced guitars and a spare groove on Spencer’s drumset, and now comes a folk-gospel gem from the album.
