Sun Kil Moon and the Album Leaf shared another taste of their debut collaborative LP last week with this hypnotic 8-minute track from Perils From The Sea. With a title like “Baby in Death Can I Rest Next To Your Grave,” you might expect a haunting cut, and Jimmy LaValle’s spare instrumentation — recalling the more subtle parts of John Carpenter’s Halloween theme a bit — provides such an ominous backdrop to Kozelek’s dirgeful vocal. Unsettling yet lovely, this collaboration has proven to be more than the sum of its parts. Hear it above. Perils From The Sea arrives on April 30th via Caldo Verde.
