It’s been a busy start to 2013 for Conor Oberst: In addition to testing out new solo material on the road and working on a Monsters of Folk album/film, today he shared two new studio tracks from his newly reunited Desaparecidos outfit. Both cuts — a pair of punk anthems for the Anonymous and Occupy movements — have been performed live on recent tours (we heard an acerbic take on “Anonymous” at FYF Fest last fall). Now they’ll be available in official form on 7″ vinyl next month. Steering clear of the politics here, suffice it to say Oberst hasn’t been set to turn heads in political circles quite this dramatically since singing “When The President Talks To God” on The Tonight Show back in 2005. Stream “Anonymous” and “The Left is Right” above.
