Director Xan Aranda’s documentary Andrew Bird: Fever Year still isn’t set for widespread distribution over a year since the project was announced, but in the meantime, more theater screenings are being booked for 2013 while today brings another glimpse at the 80-minute film. Fever Year culls live performances from a pair of 2009 concerts in Milwaukee, studio footage, and other behind-the-scenes moments to capture — according to Aranda — “a snapshot of a time during which [Bird] became perfectly adapted to the music hall.”
Above, watch Bird and St. Vincent’s Annie Clark rehearse a duet version of “Lusitania” in a hotel room before the scene cuts to an onstage take. The song is also available on this fall’s Break It Yourself/Hands of Glory deluxe edition. Revisit the film trailer here.
