Rilo Kiley’s long-awaited collection of B-sides and unreleased material appears to be imminent, as the band just shared their first official update — outside of interviews — on the project since breaking up last summer: “Record is almost finished, and artwork is nearly done. Going to need your help! More to come,” they said on Facebook.
While that nondescript phrasing has some clamoring for brand new originals, they’ve referred to said B-sides compilation like this many times before. And considering today’s teaser photo (featuring lyrics from More Adventurous cut “A Man/Me/Then Jim”), their archival release would be our bet. A Rilo Kiley reunion record would be exciting indeed, but even this set of old tunes combined with Jenny Lewis’ new film soundtrack/solo record should provide a great 2013 for fellow fans. Update: A rep for the band have confirmed with us that the album is a B-sides/archives set.
