Get Phosphorescent’s Matthew Houck in a space with good acoustics, hand him a guitar and remarkable covers seem bound to happen. We’ve heard him pay homage to the greats in this type of live setting or at the studio (most notably on a 2009 set of Willie Nelson covers) before, each time finding the right amount of reverence within his own nuanced contribution to the tune.
