Bloodshot Records announced the March 27 release of Justin Townes Earle’s fourth LP today, describing the 10-track set, Nothing’s Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now, as having a “1960s-era Muscle Shoals sound accompanied by lots of brass.” Recorded live in a converted church with no overdubs over the course of just 4 days, Earle said that his next effort is “completely different” than last year’s Harlem River Blues. “This time I’ve gone in a Memphis-soul direction.”
Based on the few tunes previewed live, the new collection does seem to promise a natural progression, however–“Memphis in the Rain” and the title track wouldn’t have been too out of place on LP3. Early live clips of both cuts are after the jump, along with the tracklist.
