More than half of the tracks on Phil Carney and Chris Connolly’s sophomore Desertshore LP, Drawing Of Threes, feature Carney’s Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon bandmate Mark Kozelek guesting on lead vocals, including the repentant acoustic number “Mercy” that first caught my ears back in September. Now their label, Caldo Verde, have shared a second preview: “Diana,” the record’s gorgeously downcast opening cut. If you’re in the mood for a “sad songs make me happy” gem, give this fine specimen a spin above. Pre-orders for the record can be made here.
