Fugazi remain on hiatus while their extensive live archive progresses, but in the meantime, co-frontman/Dischord Records leader Ian MacKaye has another band returning to the studio after a half-decade-long absence: The Evens, MacKaye’s politically charged duo with Amy Farina announced the release of a new 7” this week. Due out on November 24th, the set features A-side “Warble Factor” backed by “Timothy Wright.” (The latter cut is presumably a reference to gospel singer Rev. Timothy Wright, who died in 2009 due to injuries sustained in a car crash the previous year.)
Dischord also revealed that the baritone guitar/drums duo recorded their new material with longtime Minor Threat/Fugazi producer Don Zientara, with whom they’re working on a full-length follow-up to 2006’s Get Evens.
