In which North Highlands lay wistful vocals on a bed of interlocked, Marquee Moon-gone-twee guitars, replete with indelible melodies and surprising arrangements. Wild One not only delivers a distilled (and yeah, mature) step forward from the endearingly innocent promise of their first EP, Sugar Lips, but it’s also simply one of my favorite debut LPs of the year so far. As of today, you can stream/buy the whole album, produced by Kyle “Slick” Johnson, via BandCamp above.
