Earlier this spring, London trio Louise & the Pins debuted this understated gem live with Laura Marling, but now the official version has arrived in the form of their debut single: “Melancholy,” backed by swinging B-side “Beauty Strange,” a tune that recalls Jack White’s recent ’50s-inspired collaborator, Lanie Lane. The original Marling-assisted demo never saw a release, but Wainwright makes up for it by bringing even more pitch-perfect harmonies to the duet. You can pick up a copy here and check out “Beauty Strange” thataway.
