Earlier this summer, Spiritual Pajamas released their inaugural limited 7”, Haggard Harper Bonnie, featuring Will Oldham, as Bonnie “Prince” Billy, covering “Because of Your Eyes,” a late-career gem by Merle Haggard, along with Roy Harper’s 1974 Valentine cut “I’ll See You Again.” While we heard a snippet of the A-side at the time, now the full ode to enduring love can be streamed in full above.

Speaking of Oldham’s affection for Haggard, he debuted a new song inspired by the outlaw-country legend in June, which — if the rumors are true — just might show up on a forthcoming LP this October. Another possible track, “Quail and Dumplings,” is previewed in this pro-shot clip from the Calgary Folk Festival.
