Less than a week following the release of his first new studio music since 2009’s March of the Zapotec EP, Zach Condon has announced details for a new Beirut LP: The Rip Tide, a 9-track follow-up to 2007’s The Flying Club Cup, will arrive on August 30 via Pompeii Records, a label which today’s press release emphasizes was “started, and wholly owned by Condon with NO large label affiliation whatsoever, so as to keep total creative control.”
Included on the set are two songs that arrived last week on limited vinyl, “East Harlem” and “Goshen.” Aside from a preview of the very promising former tune streaming here or below, that’s all we know so far. Here’s the full tracklist and single:
